A tag lets you decide which leads receive an outbound message. The Update lead with tag trigger sends only when the lead in Zoho carries the tag you pick. The Tags tab works directly against your Zoho org, so each tag you create or remove here changes your CRM.

Before you start

  • A connected Zoho org with the tag scopes: ZohoCRM.settings.tags.READ, .CREATE, .UPDATE, and .DELETE. These are on by default.
  • A Zoho edition that includes tags. If it does not, the tab shows “Not in your Zoho plan” and “Your Zoho plan doesn’t include tags. Upgrade Zoho CRM to use them.”
1

Open the Tags tab

On Integrations, select Manage on the Zoho CRM card, then Tags. Kylo loads the existing Leads tags. When there are none, the tab shows No tags and “Create a tag for Leads.”
2

Select Create tag

In the Create tag dialog enter Name and pick a Color. The color is one of 13 Zoho colors or None. Select Save. The name must follow Zoho’s rules, and Kylo checks them before it calls Zoho:
3

Mark a lead in Zoho

Kylo creates the tag. You attach it to a lead inside Zoho, by hand or with a Zoho workflow. A tag with no leads never matches.
4

Use the tag in a trigger

In Outbound, Triggers, create a trigger that uses the installed automation Zoho: Update lead with tag. The Lead tag field lists your tags. See Create a trigger.
The trigger now fires on lead create or edit and sends only when the lead carries the tag.

Remove a tag

Open the actions menu on the row, Tag actions, and choose Remove. Kylo deletes the tag in Zoho immediately and without a confirmation. A trigger that points at a removed tag no longer matches any lead. If creating or removing fails you see “The tag could not be created in Zoho.” or “The tag could not be deleted in Zoho.” If the list cannot load, the tab shows “Couldn’t load tags” and “The tag list could not be fetched. Try again.” Zoho API references: Create tags, Get tag list, Delete tags.
