A tool is an action the agent can take during a turn: send an email, look up a lead, send a template. You decide which tools exist for an agent on Build, then Tools. Instructions then say when to use each one, by its mention.

The Tools page

Each group is a card with a switch (for example Enable System tools) and an expand button. Inside a group, each tool is a row labelled with its tool id, with its own switch (for example Enable send-email). The tool switches are disabled while the group is off. Search tools filters by id, title, description, or mention.
  • Defaults. The System, WhatsApp, and Zoho CRM groups start on, and Bright Call starts off.
  • Visibility. A group appears only while it can work. System is always shown. WhatsApp appears when the agent has a connected WhatsApp number, Zoho CRM when Zoho is connected, and Bright Call when a widget is ready. The same rule applies to the Playground Actions tab.
  • Template tools. Under send-whatsapp-template and list-whatsapp-templates, the page lists the Active templates the tools can use, or “No active templates.”
  • Saving. A bar appears with the changes. Save changes stores them and shows “Last saved”. A failure shows “Could not save. Try again.”
An instruction can call only an enabled tool. The @ menu in General offers a mention only for tools that are on.

System

Always available, on by default. These tools act on the current chat.

WhatsApp

Available while a WhatsApp number is connected. send-whatsapp-template also adds one @ entry per Active template, for example @whatsapp.send-template new_lead_hello.

Zoho CRM

Available while Zoho is connected, and limited by the scopes you granted. See Zoho scopes. These 24 tools cover leads, contacts, and deals. Conversion turns a lead into a contact and a deal.

Bright Call

Available when a Bright Call widget is ready, and off by default. See Bright Call.
The id is what you see on the Tools page and in Logs. The mention is what you type in instructions. They name the same tool.

Use these mentions in the General script.
