Symptom

Sends stop working some time after you connected WhatsApp. The channel may still look connected, but every send fails with a token error, typically Meta error 190.

Root cause

Meta’s long-lived tokens last about 60 days, and Meta warns that lifetimes can change without notice and that tokens can expire early. When the token dies, the Graph API rejects every call on that connection with error 190. A token that you pasted on the Access token tab can also be a short-lived user token that Meta expires within hours, or a System User token you set to expire.

What Kylo does

A daily sweep refreshes tokens that expire within 14 days while they are still valid. It only reads connections with a recorded expiry, so it covers Facebook login connections and skips Access token connections. When Meta rejects a token as invalid, Kylo sets the connection to Disconnected. See WhatsApp token lifecycle.

What you see

  • Status on the WhatsApp Connection tab reads Disconnected.
  • Or, for an access token connection, the status still reads Connected and sends fail with error 190 on the campaign’s receipts.

The fix

Open Channels, Manage on the WhatsApp card, then Disconnect. Connect again with Facebook login or a new token on the Access token tab. Templates and conversations stay. For a credential that does not expire, generate a System User token with a long expiration preference in Meta Business Settings.
